The school is currently not offering the Esthetics Teacher programs at this time.

The curriculum involves 500 hours or 750 hours to satisfy Illinois state requirements. The course educates prospective esthetics teachers to address the needs of students in the classroom and the clinic floor. The prospective teachers learn to manage their thoughts with the system of forward-focused thinking by front-end coaching. By learning the methods of teaching cosmetology, the prospective teachers learn to engage students in the learning process and stimulate the discovery process with visuals, music, or hands-on activities.

Graduates will be prepared to become an entry-level esthetics instructor.

This course is taught in English. Textbooks and course materials are only offered in the English Language.

This program is not Title IV eligible.

Esthetics Teacher Course Overview

Course Hours: 500 OR 750 clock hours

The esthetics teacher course is divided into three designations: Postgraduate Training, Psychology and Methodology, and Student Teaching.

In the 750 hour course, the first 250 hours are Postgraduate Training, followed by 240 hours in Psychology and Methodology, and 260 hours in Student Teaching.

In the 500 hour course, the first 240 hours are in Psychology and Methodology, followed by 260 hours in Student Teaching.

Esthetics Teacher Course Outline

Your time in the Paul Mitchell The School Normal esthetics teacher course will be divided into three (3) designations:

  1. Postgraduate Training: This section is a refresher on esthetics skills, where you will complete worksheets and take esthetics written exams.
  2. Psychology and Methodology: These classes focus on the theory of teaching, using Milady’s Master Educator textbook, including weekly tests.
  3. Student Teaching: You will learn to write lesson plans and do actual teaching from your lesson plans. There will be a practical teaching evaluation of your teaching skills.

Esthetics Teacher Program Testing and Grading Procedure

The following tests and grading procedures are used to assess student learning and mastery of course content in the 500-hour and 750-hour course:

  1. Students must receive a grade of 70% or higher on each theory exam. Theory exams cover a review of the Milady’s Master Educator Student Course book.
  2. Students must receive 75% or higher on each final exam; final exams cover a complete overview of the Milady’s Master Educator Student Course book.
